Spent the day in Zurich- lovely old city- it is amazing wandering around streets made of cobblestone, seeing buildings older than when our country was "discovered", there is so much history in each place!
Art gallery was interesting- always a puzzle as what ends up being art.
Shopped up a storm on Banhofstr Street - Not!
Security guards on the did kind of stop you from wanting to go in. 🤣😂Read more

Gepäck abgeben, Security Check - Ein Buch, ein Wasser, ein Foto und dann ab in die Maschine! In weniger als eineinhalb Stunden von Hamburg nach Zürich. Im Flieger zwei Seiten Buch lesen, kurz eindösen, ein Täfelchen Schokolade annehmen, ein paar Zeilen Text schreiben und schon ist man in Zürich! Riesen Flughafen! Ich eile vorbei an sich auftürmenden leuchtenden Boutiquen, Schweizer Taschenmessern in allen Größen, prall gefüllten Duty-Free-Shops und ab mit der Bahn zum nächsten Gate!👩‍✈️🇨🇭Read more

I made it to the lake in the early morning hours. The sun had not yet risen, and so I spent some time staring into the cold abyss that is Zurich Lake. When the first rays finally made it over the horizon, the sky was awash in red and yellow colors. Birds began to sing, and a cold wind came down the lake.Read more

Jour 2 - Visite de Zurich

Après une bonne nuit et un p’tit dej complet, l’équipe Velocity est partie se balader à vélo dans Zurich.
Durant la matinée nous avons pédalé d’une rive à l’autre du Lac de Zurich en passant par les églises, places et parcs typiques de la ville.

Nous avons ensuite pique-niqué libanais (conseil avisé de notre ami zurichois Valentin) au bord du lac de Zurich. 😋
Nous avons pris le temps de nous baigner, bronzer et faire la sieste pour certains: de quoi recharger complètement nos batteries pour la journée sportive de demain 🔋

Nous avons ensuite retrouvé Valentin dans une pizzeria pour dîner. Plusieurs pizzas et tiramisus plus tard, nous sommes rentrés à l’appartement pour préparer les bagages afin de partir tôt demain matin ! 😊

I went to grab coffee. Stores were still closed and the lady behind the counter of the only open bakery was, as bakers in Switzerland are, just about as rude as a person can be without being sued. But the coffee was oh so good and the almond bun was amazing.Read more

Jour 1 - L’equipe au complet !

Ce matin, Félix, Cloclo et Tim sont partis de Strasbourg en train direction Zurich.
Après deux TER nous sommes arrivés dans la capitale économique suisse aux alentours de midi.

Nous nous sommes baladés à vélo le long du lac de Zurich puis, nous nous sommes assoupis le temps d’une sieste, sous l’ombre d’un arbre, bercés par le clapotis de l’eau 🏝️

De son côté Hugo a rejoint Zurich dans l’après-midi après 109km de vélo.

Nous nous sommes retrouvés au Airbnb où nous passerons les deux prochaines nuits.
La team Vélocity est maintenant au complet, l’aventure peut commencer ! 😋

C’est parti pour le grand voyage !

Après une arrivée sous la flotte à Zurich, on a trouvé une auberge de jeunesse ( et non pas de fortune vu le prix : 55€ la nuit par personne 🥵)

On garde le sourire et on part pour une journée de promenade sous le magnifique temps pluvieux de Zurich avant notre départ.

Old Town

I went to Landesmuseum which had an exhibition called ‘I’m Wald’ about the History of Switzerland forests and lots of art about sustainability , climate change and climate change protestors and recent events.
There was an Anne Frank exhibition that I saw as well.
I went around old town and found a cute park with a really nice view- people were sitting off the ledge of the wall and you could see the whole of the Limmat river which was so so pretty. The streets and buildings were also really nice 😊:)))Read more

End of the tour, start of gals trip!

Today we woke up after a sleep in, got our luggage repacked and headed to breakfast. There we said godbye to our tour group, everyone seemed a bit emotional to be finishing up which was lovely. Erin and I then walked to Lidl, a grocery store to buy some supplies for our road trip to Switzerland. We grabbed an Uber to the hotel where we picked up our car. It was tricky getting out of the city but i had my trusty navigator Erin guiding me. It was a little stressful but soon we were on the freeway and allowed to do whatever speed I wanted. Didn't go too crazy but did get up to 140km at one point, with some people still zooming past us.
We crossed the border with no issues, just a smile and a wave. Then we drove along this stunning road right by a lake overlooking mountains on the way into Zurich.
We arrived at our accommodation to meet Kate and Liisa. We woke Kate up from a nap and it was so nice to see her. Then we saw Liisa and it was a fabulous reunion. We all caught up then headed to Zurich via the train and a tram lead by tour guide Liisa for dinner. We walked around a bit because everything was so expensive but finally found this random italian place where the waiter struggled to understand Erins request for wine. We then walked along the river and stopped for a drink. Then we headed back after a snack stop at Spar and all headed off to bed.Read more

Zurich est belle, mais je n'accroche pas a ce genre de charme prout prout avec une aura de m'as tu vu a chaque coin de rue.. J'ai quand même pris le temps de visiter la vieille ville et un peu le lac mais sans plus
Par contre galère de ouf pour faire du stop, j'ai du faire le tour de la ville avant de revenir presque au point de départ quand on m'a finalement pris en stop !
