  • Getting ready for the trip

    April 5 in Australia ⋅ 🌧 18 °C

    Hola Eloise here
I know I didn't make it very clear in the title but I am going to Spain for El Camino!
El Camino (also known as the way of St James) is a bunch of paths leading to Santiago. I'm not doing the full walk but I'm doing the last 100km of one of the paths.

Getting ready for El Camino is tricky because you can't pack too much but you got to pack enough and you can't just pack anything you have to pack quick dry clothes. or instead of books you should download e-books on your device.

But it's not just that for me I'm quite nervous but don't get me wrong I am super excited as well but this is a new experience for me and with all the stress from packing. But I'm not going to let the nervousness get the best of me I am going to enjoy this Camino have fun and work on this blog!

By the way my title (Eloise en El Camino) means 'Eloise on the Camino' in Spanish.

    The plane ride

    April 7 in the United Arab Emirates ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

    Hola it’s Eloise
It’s the first plane ride two Spain! This flight is 14 hours then we get of in Dubai after that we have a 7 hour flight to Spain! How “fun”.

We have 9 more hours to go before we land but we only just finished getting over Australia! Me and my grandparents had to get up at 2 o’clock to make this plane because it left at 6 so I am super tired 🥱 and already feeling home sick😔. At least the plane has games, it is a lot different to other planes I’ve been on but I guess it’s because I have never been on a flight this long. When I look out the window I can see the ocean and a little bit of Australia, I have taken a video of it for you.

I am very excited to start my adventures in Spain and to share them with you

    In Spain

    April 10 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

    Hola it’s Eloise

We made it to Spain! After 2 plane trips and a train ride we are in Sarria, and tomorrow we begin the Camino. Before I continue I would like you to meet someone, this is Elle a little grey toy elephant with a bow tie (picture included). She will be joining us on the Camino as my little travel buddy! Elle is very special to me because she was my first toy 🐘.

Starting today I am going to do a little something called Spanish word of the day: every day (or at least every day I do a post) I will tell you a Spanish word and what it means. Let’s start with something simple and well known like hola (o-la) hola means hello in Spanish, good job.

Now I think I have to explain something, you have probably seen the shell in my first blog it is a scallop shell and is the symbol for the Camino because it shows all the different paths leading to Santiago de compostela.

Once again I am sorry I haven’t written in the blog for awhile it’s been a long couple days getting to Spain and everything but I hope you have fun reading them.

If you are ever in Spain get Cola Cao it is like hot chocolate and is DELICIOUS 😋.
