Day 7 Roma
Last day in Rome today was started with the one and only Vatican.
Basically you see 3 mueseums, the church, the square and obviously the sistine chapel.

The sistine chapel was smaller then i expected but was still beautiful. As its technically a church you arent allowed to speak inside or take pictures. They have about 20 guards inside watching you. It was different to what i imagined, Michaelangelo painted the ceiling and 1 wall. But other painters painted the other sections so it's basically paintings from floor to ceiling, of people mainly.

St. Peters bascilica was really something. On another level from every church id seen so far.

The pope does mass from outside in the square on Wednesday monrings, which can fit 150,000 people. He also does a blessing from his room that overlooks the square on sundays.

After that we drove to Florence and had a special Tuscan dinner in the hill side.Les mer

Day 8 Florence
Today in beautiful Florence we had a leather making demo and went to a legit florentine leather store.
(I didnt buy anyone a wallet here, sorry, none of them looked any different to what we get at home)

Then we had a tour of the city. It was once run by the famous Medici family who built the church in the main centre which is unlike any other. Its white,green and pink and made like a mosaic.
Here i also saw the statue of David.
The medici palace is massive. Ridiculous.
But even more ridiculous was that at 1 point a wife of a Medici wanted a bigger palace so they built one on the other side of the river. THEN built a tunnel like structure that connected the original medici palace to the new one. The tunnel was originally only allowed to have goldsmiths stations inside. Now in their place are jewellery shops.

Michaelangelo actually copied the structure of the medici duomo to make the dome of St. Peters bascilica.

I enjoyed Florence very much.Les mer

Day 9 San Gimignano
Today we went to a small town outside of florence. Its a medieval town.
It had great views of tuscany.
After that we went wine tasting in the regions famous Chianti.

Day 10 Pisa and Verona

Today was lots of travelling.
From florence we went to Pisa to see the tower which is leaning 4°. I took a classic "im holding it up" picture.
Then to the romantic Verona where we saw Juilets balcony and grave.
There is also a juilet statue in which you are supposed to rub her right boob for good luck.
Then got to the out skirts of venice at night time.Les mer

Day 11 and 12 Venice.
I can't even put into words how amazing Venice is.
Unlike anything in the world.
The streets are buzzing as you walk along the canals with boats and gondolas beside you.

I had such a fantastic day. Definitely the highlight of the tour.

We started with a glass blowing demo then had a local walking tour then finished with a classic Venetian dinner of salmon pasta.

In my free time i walked the streets looking at the amazing masks and souvenirs.

But the definite winner was the gondola ride.
It was so peaceful and so magical.
We asked our gondlier to sing but he said he couldnt. But got his fellow gondlier who was infront of us to sing loud enough for us to hear.

I will remember it forever.Les mer

Day 13 ,14 and 15 Milan

I have arrived in beautiful Milan.
It is a different city once again.
Everything here is beautiful.
Obviously because it is the fashion capital of the world, so everyone is well dressed.
But the houses are something else.
Just streets and streets of beautiful unqiue buildings. All with their own flavour.

Here i visited the duomo, which is a big beautiful church.
I saw the famous last supper painting by Leo davinci.
It was pretty big, at least the size of a regular wall but it was very faded. My guide told me they have had trouble preserving it.
I also went to a big castle that had paintings for Da vinci , Michaelangelo and old milan relics.
The coolest stuff was dressers/cupboards from milan across the ages from 1300-present.

But mostly i wondered the fashion district.

There is 1 mall that only houses the likes of Gucci, Versace, Armani etc and it is so unbelievably beautiful, this mall has been made with such finesse. If you didnt know it was full of shops you'd think it was a palace.

Also i went to chinatown which was still more beautiful then regular.Les mer

Day 16 Lake Como

Today i went to the famous Lake Como.
It's about an hour out from Milan.
Its really beautiful.
I took a boat ride tour for 1.5 hours.
Would be an amazing summer holiday escape.

In the afternoon i had a classic italian snack.
It's an Aperol Spritz and appetizers.
For some reason italians have this after work before dinner.Les mer

Day 17 and 18 Naples
If i could describe Napoli in 1 word, it'd be Ghetto.

Such a change from the beautiful streets of Milan.
I didnt realise how clean the rest of Italy was until i got here.

But i went through 3km of underground naples which was dug out by the greeks to get stone to build what is today Naples.
The caves were then turned into aqueducts, then bomb shelters during WWII
It was very cool.

But yeah. Ghetto.Les mer

Day 19 and 20
I arrived in Sorrento.
It's a small but very nice town.
It is full of tourists.

In my first day i wondered the streets and shops and had some fantastic roast pork and potato pizza.

2nd day i went to the Pompeii ruins.
Now i under estimated how big the ruins actually were.
You literally walk the whole city.
Took me a solid 5 hours.

But mainly its just streets and streets of broken houses.
I thought that there would be a museum type section that would house the bodys and what not. I was wrong.
You had to walk, normally there'd only be 1 cast.
But 1 house had 9 people.
A lot of the bodies they found they moved to a museum in Naples.
I didnt take that many photos as it all kinda looked the same.
After a long day im very tired. But still enough energy to get more pizza.Les mer
