    Botanical Gardens

    Despite the rain I made the interesting choice to go to the botanical gardens. It made for literally no tourists so I liked that and the rain was just a funny situation.

    The views were very obscured when I first arrived due to the weather. But I decided to stop under a pergola thing and by the time I had eaten my lunch the weather had cleared.

    As it was autumn there were not many flowers out but the landscape sculpting was still nice.

    The war memorial is also by the gardens so I visited that afterwards. It is a memorial to all the soldiers lost in multiple wars. Sadly the building all the names are listed in is massive and also full.     Czytaj więcej

    Bell tower

    Honestly the best fun. The bell tower is a beautiful modern building a similar shape to the Shard but only a couple stories tall. It is 18 bells, a ring of 16 with two semi tones. A very nice ring with a good chime.

    The tower is slightly unnerving because it is also a tourist attraction. The bells have a second story with a viewing platform for the public to see us. It wasnt obvious when we were ringing but sometimes you could see movement off to the side which was very weird.

    I did have a great time though as I got to ring stuff I haven't in a while. I was also very proud of myself as I rang the tenor which is the heaviest bell. It is 29 which is insanely heavy and far harder than bells I usually ring. I know it's kind of weird but I was happy.

    The view from the tower is beautiful aswell despite the weather I saw it at. You can see directly down the road into the main CBD and on the other side the view of the river is insane.

    Hands down one of my favourite rings thanks to the location, bells and views.     Czytaj więcej

    Art Gallery

    These are some of my favourite pieces. Dont ask me why, I'm not sure.

    From the tour of the colonials I decided to go to the art gallery. I am 50% sure I joined a free tour but I may have accidentally joined a paid one for free. But it was really good and when noone said anything, I wasnt going to leave.

    The tour was across the aboriginal art being displayed in the museum. There was a lot of the tradition style of art and different mediums. But also art done in a more realism style which I really liked. My favourite art to see is landscape realism so to see some done by aboriginal artists was really unique. At least that's that I thought.

    The gallery itself was very large hosting multiple rooms of different styles and time period in each. There were other rooms that I only briefly looked through. I'd sort of had information overload and couldn't handle any more. But these rooms were simply modern art and I don't get usually anyway so not sure I missed much.

    The gallery is free so I think I shall return if i have a free few hours to spare another day.     Czytaj więcej

    Convicts and colonials

    Did another free tour. This one on the convicts and colonials who shaped Perths founding. Again very interesting, slightly more what I am interested in than yesterday so that was nice.

    It is fascinating how much Perth is covered in history. It feels like almost every road has a date or a plaque on it and has some historical building nestled between skyscrapers. Art is almost everywhere here aswell. Everything from stylised graffiti to sculptures. According to our guide. With every new building in perth, 1% of the total cost has to be put into some art project for the city. From a view point you can see 3 or 4 skyscrapers currently being built so the overall amount given to art must be high. And it shows. The streets are beautiful.

    I am not a massive fan of modern architecture but the way it had enveloped and shaped around the historical buildings is something I can definitely get behind.     Czytaj więcej

    Perth mint

    Our walking tour dropped us off at the royal mint, so I thought it would be rude not to go in.

    The jewelry they had on display was honestly stunning. They had everyhting shiny, I was loving it. The most expensive item was a $749,000 which is about £450,000. Insanely expensive for a ring. It had a massive pink jem on it and and the band was covered in multiple diamonds. Like loads. I went full magpie and just looked at the shiny things for far longer than necessary.

    Thankfully I was interrupted from my fixation by the tour I booked on starting.

    The tour focused on the history of gold nuggets that were found. Our guide showed us 3 replicas. One was of the first massive one found, then the largest ever found and also the only remaining intact nugget. They are far larger than I was expecting and really helped me understand the craze that came from prospecting.

    They then took us inside to the vaults. There was loads of information up about the different types of gold that can be found and more on the history of gold in Western Australia.

    We then moved into a demonstration area and one of the workers walked us through the process of melting and pouring a gold block. It was amazing to see and you were close enough to feel the heat. The guy doing the presentation was very good aswell. He knew what he was doing and how it all worked. Well worth the visit.

    Outside was a scale that you could measure yourself on. It told you how much money you would be worth if you were made of gold. So from here on out I am worth over 6million and will taken nothing less than that!

    On the way out it was, of course, exit via the gift shop and I once again became transfixed by the shiny. I was close to buying some things but in reality it was all very expensive and I am very broke and will probably brake it in my big bag.     Czytaj więcej

    City vibes

    Woke up at a very respectable 8,30am. Another 12+hrs of sleep and I felt far more human.

    Turns out the hostel I am in has free breakfast. This is the 3rd time i have booked somewhere with breakky and forgot. So wonderful surprise, love me some free food.

    I then decided to hit the city. Perth icity tourist kiosk runs free tours daily. Every day is a different kind of tour which I kind of like. This morning was the 'Big Boom', so a tour on the gold rush.

    We wandered around the city learning how to gold rush effected the city, its architecture and how it worked. I found it fascinating how in an attempt to stop the gold getting stolen they didnt give any indication of which cart the gold was travelling in. As a result noone knew where the gold was when it was travelling. But also noone knew which cart it was in when it arrived. I have this mental image guards running around panicked that they cant find this cart of gold and the owner just standing there getting more and more agitated. Super funny to me for some reason.

    Our tour took nearly 2hrs which was a lot but we saw so much and learnt loads. And it was free, so cant go wrong.

    Perth

    I did not do much today.

    I woke up after sleeping for probably 14hrs. Much needed. Seriously.

    I decided to take the bus into the city to the supermarket. Perth has 5 bus routes that are all free which is genius and I love it. One of those routes goes straight outside my hostel into the main shopping area. So I bought food which I did not want to eat but knew I really needed to after how little I had eaten.

    I did intend to explore the city but after walking for about 20mins, i began to feel very dizzy and exhausted again. So i hoped back on the same bus i took in and finished the loop. It took me throughout the West and East sides of Perth so I got to see something at least.

    Back at my hostel I had a rest and once I felt better went for a little walk. I headed down to the river. Walking along it is surprisingly quite and fresh there. The wind blows straight in from the coast making it a very nice walk. I explored onwards a little and found a nice park. It was warm out but I was feeling very cold which made me think I needed to go back inside.

    Back in the hostel I went for another lie down and it became more of a sleep than a nap.     Czytaj więcej

    Disaster strikes

    After having a very nice little chat at 1am with some of the family. I began my attempt at sleeping. After spending an atrocious couple hours attempting to sleep in the freezing Melbourne airport it finally hit 4am, and the checkin opened up. And at this point, I checked my phone. My flight was cancelled.

    The anger I felt was unexpectedly strong. After a call to mum who calmed me down, I got my flight rescheduled. Qantas is a much nicer airline than jetstar. Not only was I able to check my luggage in at 5am for my 9am flight. They gave us food on the flight and free drinks and a chocolate. It's a small thing but honestly so nice. I will definitely reconsider before booking with jetstar again. I know it's only something small but I would rather pay a little more for food and the bag drop next time.

    Managed to make a friend on the flight and we shared an uber into the city. There was no way I had the mental capacity to figure out the bus/train to my hostel after all that happened.

    As a result I arrived super early to my hostel for check in so just relaxed in the common area for a couple areas and tried desperately not to fall asleep.

    When I could finally check in I lasted another couple hours before falling asleep.     Czytaj więcej

    Come fly with me

    Had a detestable 8am alarm after still being up at 2am. Packed up the last of my stuff and checked out. I really hope I have everything cause there is no turning back now!

    I went for a final browse around Salamanca markets before popping into woolies to pick up some snacks for the flight. On the way I also dropped a bag of stuff at salvos. I seem to realise I dont need certain things everytime i am somewhere. I have cut down the amount of clothes and just stuff i have my a good 10%. Which when you live out of a backpack is quite a lot!

    My bag however is now nice and loosely packed. I was sick of cramming it all in there hoping it fit every time. Now it sits comfortably with room to spare. Minimalist backpacking at its finest.

    I then spent the rest of the day trying and failing to get some more sleep before I had to leave. Some lads were watching sport on the tv and were being predictably loud. After around an hour I gave up and just watched tv. The annoying thing was I could store my bag in the hostel but only until 12. Which is highly unhelpful.

    At around 5pm I got very restless and somehow managed to convince myself I was going to miss my flight. So I did the only normal thing my sleep deprived dumbass could think of and that was get the bus to the airport. 3.5hrs early. This one is a new record for me.

    Obviously I spent the next 1.5hrs on the landslide pre-checkin before 7,30 rolled around and i could drop my bag off. I then spent the next 1.5hrs sitting by my gate trying desperately not to fall asleep. Somewhere down the line I got the shivers that persisted for a large amount of that time right through to boarding. I had my hood up, my eyes were bloodshot, I probably looked like I was in withdrawal from something it was that bad.

    Finally was able to board. Eye mask went straight on and I tried once more to sleep. Once more I was unsuccessful but simply being in the dark, able to rest my eyes and ears helped considerably. We shall see how long feeling better lasts.     Czytaj więcej

    Night out

    We have been talking about going out for ages and finally, on my second to last shift we did. Finished at 10pm, nice and early, after a very simple shift.

    We had a drink outside cause free drinks. Then headed out to another couple places before inevitably ending up in Macdonald's.

    I genuinely thought the girls were lying to me when they said there was a chicken shop called legs and breasts but they were not. And then I thought they were lying still when they said there was a bottle shop chain that's called 9/11. But once more they were not and found me the proof. So of course I had to get a photo with one hilarious sign name and one unfortunate one.

    We had a great night and I'm again sad to be leaving people behind here. But from the sounds of things, all of them will be in Europe at some time so we shall meet again.     Czytaj więcej

    Final few days

    I'm quite proud of myself the last few days, I've been fairly busy.

    I kicked it off by finally finishing my book. Chose a lovely evening in the park to finish the final couple chapters. Hobart to London, on a thumb and a Pray, top tier book. Probably one of my favourite reads from the last few years, which believe me is saying a lot. I read so much. The story was well written and inspired me on loads of places I want to go. Rather political and slightly biased against the US in particular. But it displays a clear and stark view of the past and the world in it's current state (though it was write in 2015 so is beginning to be dated).

    Tassie, one of my colleagues, decided to draw on my hand and the outcome was hilarious so I had to capture the gremlin that was created.

    My friend Moni who I met in Sydney and I decided we are going to go to Bali together in April. I have never really travelled with anyone before so that will be fun. Moni only has 9days off so I am going to stay in bali after she leaves. Probably for a week or so, not sure yet. Then I will fly from bali to Darwin and spend a week or so there. After that I have no clue where I'm going but that will be decided by where I can get a job. By this point it will be May, so I will need to get a job and stay somewhere for a few months again.

    And of course there was the dreaded laundry. Packing is very difficult when you wear your closed on a 2 week cycle and you are at the end so everything is dirty. So I did laundry. In probably the worst laundry facility I have every used. The hostels washers and dries are bad and overpriced, I knew this. I have after all had to do laundry there before. But today was a special occasion. Today, the washes simply got my clothes wet, and they dryers spung them. They came out sopping wet and the same level of dirty as before. I was not pleased. Particularly as I paid $12 for that. The most expensive laundry I have yet paid.

    Once it was all hanging and drying in my room, I realised I would not be able to pack and would have to do it all tomorrow. I was not pleased.     Czytaj więcej

    MONA

    Well this was an experience. Um yeah, I'm honestly not sure what to say.

    I imagine working here in the lower sections to like working in a night club. It was very unnerving.

    The boat ride was a lot of fun and I got to ride on a sheep. I was thrilled. It was uncomfortable but I can say I have riden a sheep on a boat. Not something just anyone can say!

    Overall I'd probably put the experience at a 4/10. It was rather overwhelming to say the least. It was very dark with isolated moments of light, deadly silent or super loud.

    I'm not a massive fan for this kind of artwork. If I go to a gallery or museum I want to see landscapes, portraits and historical artwork. This was all modernism and stuff I just did not understand.

    That being said, the landscape is stunning and with the sun shining and nothing beats a nice boat ride.     Czytaj więcej

    Next steps

    After many hours of headaches and spending more money than I would like, I have booked my next step. 3.5weeks in Western Australia. 4 destinations, 4 days in 2 and a week each in the others.

    I leave on the 11th of March to Perth and fly back to Melbourne on the 4th April.

    I got bored and started crocheting flowers. No clue what for but keeps me entertained. I went shopping bought my favourite fake chicken strips.

    Spent saturday lunch in the park with a doghnut from the market and read my book in the sun. I sat beside the puppy parking and watched the cute doggos roam about while their owners were in the market.

    We had a fire alarm in the building which spiced up my afternoon before heading to work.     Czytaj więcej

    Not a great time

    This last week or so has not been good. It's that simple.

    I wasnt initially going to add this in but I will for when I look back on this the dead space of time can be explained. If I forget. I hope I do forget.

    I had three very bad shifts at work. That was the beginning. Between shitty customers and horrible moments it was not a great few shifts. The staff are friendly but the rules over here for allergies and food knowledge are a lot less extreme than in the uk. This can be exhausting. When I am taking my usual routes and precautions, because i will not be the person who sends someone else into anaphylaxis, the lack of aid from other staff is exhausting. When someone could die from a mistake, I wont be the reason for that mistake.

    I lost my key and had to buy a new one. A non refundable $50 is a severely large amount for a lost key. It simply added insult to injury.

    On my way home from work a drunk guy tried to grab me. I made sure he regretted doing so. But it is yet again exhausting and frustrating. I am not the easy target he thought I was but I really would have appreciated not having to deal with it. I have never felt unsafe while travelling before. I still feel safe, but it is an unpleasant reminder.

    And finally, I ended up in hospital. I'm fine, but still in some pain but ok. They did some tests that came back negative and I asked to go as the pain had gone down. I'm still not sure what happened but other than losing a night of sleep, no real side effects.

    I believe Hobart would be a lovely place to build a life but it is not for me. I do not know what direction my life is taking me in but too many signs are pointing me away from here.     Czytaj więcej

    Do you ever?

    Do you ever wonder about the statistics of your life?

    I dont know why but I thought about it yesterday and I cant get it out of my mind. I'm just so curious now.

    For instance, how many people have I had a conversation with? What percentage of my life have I need asleep? Those are like mundane ones, but I thought of it first when I was at work. I was standing polishing cutlery and was so curious about how many knives I must have polished in my life. I mean, I've been working hospo for 3 ish years now, I must have polished a lot.

    And then other things, like how many times have I narrowly escaped injury? Or how many hours have I spent reading?

    I don't know why I just keeping thinking of new ones. I'd love that to be something you could know.

    Anyways, that's a little view into my weird brain.

    Did a 12 bell practice on monday. My first ever and it was all simulated on the computer. There are 12 bells in the tower but 2 are semitones so rung on all 12 normally is just not a good noise. The tower captain is creating a computer program that assesses the ringing and the ringers individually. The program is insanely clever, it gives perfect stats on who is ringing to fast or slow. If anyone was out, its insanely clever mechanics. Obviously they are just linked to the hobart bells currently as the sensors have to be put in perfect timings to get the accurate readings, but it is definitely a way to modernise ringing. Any mathematician or scientist would have a field day with it once it is perfected. It makes my brain very happy to look over.

    I also bought myself some wool. It isnt a great photo as the wool is actually a light blue. But I decided I wanted to make something. It took me around a week to figure out what I could make that I actually need but finally got it. I am making a laundry bag. Its hard to organise a backpack when it comes to dirty and clean clothing because it all fits in one spot. So hopefully with this I will be able to separate it out easier. I dont really like this pattern, I dont think the holes are big enough so I am going to make it again with a 2 chain gap between the stiches and hope that is bigger.     A slow week

    Not done a lot this week.

    Been feeling quite rough and exhausted this week. Work has been slammed, fully booked constantly so very busy as a result.

    I thought of a name for my blog, ameliaswanderlust. I'm not sure if I like it but it is the closest I have gotten to something that I like and isnt taken already.

    Also went to the Salamanca markets again. Got a doughnut and saw a few new stalls. I liked the pen knife one and there was a grow your own mushroom one which is cool. Also bought myself some MandMs. Two were joined together and made me laugh.

    The weather has been all over the place here. On friday it hit 37° and saturday was 22°. Sunday was 30° and sunny and monday is 15° and rainy. This is crazy.

    Hopefully whatever is making me sick goes soon and I can stop feeling horrible all the time.     Czytaj więcej

    A day of church's

    Today was my day off so I decided to try and be busy.

    The tower captain in hobart invited me to join them at their secondary church to ring in the morning. It is a Jewish Orthodox church now but was once an Anglican church. Beautiful interior and some pretty nice bells. They ring sort of funny but not bad.

    There were some cool buildings opposite that I really liked. And another church close by.

    Then sat about and had a muffin and berocca while I planned. Wrote a few emails and tried to finalise my east coast plans.

    Made some quesadillas for dinner. Tomato cause, cheese and fake chicken. Very nice.

    Then had ringing again this evening. We rang a touch of Bob which I haven't done in forever. So very proud of myself for that.

    Got back to the hostel and found out the new fridges were up and running. They are only for long termers so I now have a lovely clean fridge spot, that doesn't smell like fish and has a lot of space.     Czytaj więcej

    Trial at work

    I made a quesadilla. Cheese, tomato and egg. Top tier.

    Went to work. Got paid a large amount of money to polish cutlery and glasses which was great.

    Then said goodbye to the girls. We had a little icecream party in the kitchen. They gave me a larger quantity of food which was awsome and then we parted ways. They are the only ones I know in Hobart so sad to see them go. They will probably be in Perth in June so should see them again then. Czytaj więcej

    Busy weekends

    Now I dont know why because it seems counter intuitive but this weekend was not only the regatta but also the annual wooden boat festival.

    So needless to say there has been a massive amount of old people in the city. To the point where there was no accommodation in the city on saturday night. Literally none.

    Work has been massively busy as well, as a result. Thanks to the amount of people in the city we were fully booked and turning people away all day.

    The Salamanca markets were once again insanely busy. But even more so. I really like just walking around them and watching everyhting happening. Around 80% of the stalls are the same each week but some still switch every week which keeps things fresh.

    I also spotted this puppy parking stall which is just too cute. There was a dog being dropped off and looked so excited from the toy it was given. Genuinely so cute.

    The boat festival was far too busy for my liking and I know nothing about boats so a bit boring. If I knew about boats then the inventions section would have been really interesting. One of the old sheds was full of businesses showing off their new inventions that improve boats economically and environmentally.

    It's been a long week building up to this busy weekend so glad its finally over.     Czytaj więcej

    A couple days

    Work, meal prep and planning.

    Work is good, easy. Everyone is super nice and it's been pretty easy to adapt to the new location and ways of doing things. It's odd being a waitress again after being a bartender but I can safely say I enjoy it so muc more. I dont know why and I'm sure most bartenders who have worked the floor definitely prefer being behind the bar but I do not.

    I am trying to not only limit the amount I'm spending of food (its embarrassing), but also find food that isnt pasta and cup-a-soup. As a result I am planning my food better and also trying to only shop once a week. So far so good but that isnt saying much as I've only been here for like 10days.

    The storage for food is also borderline insanity. The fridges are all full to bursting and the shelves are full so people are just leaving bags of food on the floor. I have managed to secure a location in both but the space is limited and I am not willing to try and find another spot. So buying food is very strategic at the moment. I did see downstairs two new fridges however I'm not sure if they are extra storage spots or replacements for the older ones.

    On a separate note I had a video call with someone from Welcome to Travel this week. She was super helpful in giving me some tour options and also offered to organise and plan my east coast trip. Thanks to me doing the tour when I first arrived they do this for free. I'm not 100% happy with the plan so far so I'm going to have to switch some things up. I would like to go to uluru but I feel as though it will end up being just far too expensive. I have also already seen it so I'm not massively interested in going again.

    Beyond that I've been wandering around the city, making good food and drinking tea and coffee. I caved and bought myself some coffee powder and tea bags. Definitely cheaper that a coffee shop!     Czytaj więcej

    Friday evenings

    I have good news.

    The guy at work who made me feel like a complete idiot and like didnt know how to do my job, does it with everyone. And by everyone I mean, even the boss and the chefs. They have 0 management positions and everyone is constantly just rolling their eyes at their comments.

    So that made me feel a lot better. I was seriously stressing about work because of them so I'm glad it's not just me. Everyone was super nice and helpful aswell. I felt a lot better by the end.

    I am also trying to set up an actual blog, a way to write out my thoughts and all. But it turns out I need a name. And I can write for days about travel or hospitality, but I cannot think of a name.

    Beyond that I am trying to figure out expenses to see how much money I have for my time in Western Australia. I found a cool way to explore it but I dont know which option to choose.

    So that's all I'm really doing at the moment. Lots of relaxing in the park with my book, planning for my next steps and settling into work. I do need to go food shopping at some point but that is a future me thing. I'll do that later.     Czytaj więcej

    Working once more

    Started work today. It was good. Simple but everyone seems to get along which is nice. Had a bit of an issue with one of my colleagues. They are incredibly intense with everything and didnt seem to understand that I did know what I am doing. But I held my tongue and let them boss me about. They seemed to be doing it with everyone so at least it's not just me.

    Made myself overnight oats for breakky. Very nice.

    Then had to do laundry. Not a vibe.

    Not only was it $8 and hour to rent the room, the machines took at least 30mins each. But the machine lies. The 30min wash was 40. Which left me with less than 20 to dry. Needless to say that wasnt long enough. So the less glamorous side of travelling became my only choice. Drying my clothes around my room. RIP.

    Now I know I could have let it dry and just paid the $16, but $16 a week is not ok. $8 I am used to and willing to do. Not twice that for machines that barely work anyways.

    On my way to work I spotted this cool motorcycle. The owner offers scenic rides up Kunyani on it. So cool.     Czytaj więcej

    Fun fun fun, in the sun

    I spent many an hour in the park the last couple days.

    It is so warm out, I've just been relaxing in various parks and reading.

    Saw a pretty pale green tree. Found a cafe that had wifi. Unfortunately the coffee was bad again and it felt very like a costa. And I dont really wanna support chains when I can go local. I may need to buy myself some coffee powder and do my coffee and work in the hostel. There are loads of small working spots here and the wifi is really strong so it may be a shout. Also cheaper. I just like the walk to the coffee shop.

    But anyways. Made myself a little picnic lunch and found another park to sit and read in. Finished my first book of 2023. It was a cute little Christmas holiday romance. The main character was the worst but the love interest was interesting and he had a daughter who I think was written really well.

    I'm also making my way through the hitchhiking book. I'm really liking it so far. Lots of stories of people, generosity and truthful history tellings. He is a bit of a biased narrator and fairly opinionated but I agree with him so I'm chill.

    Today it was super annoying cause it was boiling in the sun and just slightly too cool in the shade. I kept switching between the two when one got too much. I am definitely living the summer relaxing life while I can. It's nice to just be in places that arent so warm you melt in seconds.     Czytaj więcej

    Walking tours

    Did a cutesy little walking tour of Hobart. Met a girl on the tour who is also in my hostel so was nice talking with her.

    Our guide was really nice and is thinking of going to england in a few months. She wanted to live and work in London but I may have accidentally convinced her not too. I didnt intend too but she didnt seem to mind too much. I just said there was more to see than just London.

    We met at another cute park which I loved. We walked past a pretty house which does tours that show the lives of the servants in Hobart. Might do that tour later on.

    We also walked past the old hospital and up to Battery Point. Saw the amazing view of Kunyani from the Battery Point road.

    Then down to one of the oldest and grandest buildings in Hobart. This was built by a guy who used to run the whaling ships. From this position he could see over the entire city, river and docks. Up the top of the building he would sit in his office and watch everything that his employees were doing. Sounds kinda creepy but it was effective. It is also supposed to be haunted and they used to do ghost tours as well. So might do that at some point.

    The down to Salamanca and saw the steps I had walked up yesterday. Turns out these were built by a guy who was sick of walking all around the headland and decided he would build some. He had some spare land so just built them. Love it.

    We finished the tour at the parliament gardens and the boat of to Mona.     Czytaj więcej

    Sunny afternoons

    Spent my afternoon after the Markets, wandering around the city. It is somehow bigger than I expected and smaller. It is my very spread out, across the river and up the mountain. But also very easy to walk around and the central area is a lot easier than I expected.

    The first photo is the view from my new room. I have a window right next to my bed and a very pretty view of the church. The rest are of different parts of the city. I found two more parks that I liked. One had a big fountain in the middle and is right near my hostel. And another that sits atop a 'hill' next to the river. The war memorial sits atop it and it has a great view of the river and city, as well as Kunyani. The sun sets behind the mountain and is so pretty.

    Also saw some cute statues down in the port. And there was a random lama in the middle of the city. And the video is of my room. The window is on my left and all the other beds are through in the other room. Doesn't reay feel like I have roommates.     Czytaj więcej

    Saturday markets

    Work up early to check out and move into my long term room. Found out it wasng ready yet, so happy.

    But then I realised it was saturday so I headed down to the markets. Bought myself some soap which I really needed and a doughnut cause why not. Also saw this chili gin which I did not try. Might go taste it next week if I have the nerve! Also saw these super cool wooden glass ball things. They rotated, really trippy for my tired brain!

    Once I'd wandered round the entire thing more than once I took a seat down in the grass and watched the performers. They were the oldest Scottish bagpipe band in Tasmania and honestly pretty good. At first I was like, dear god no, not that noise. But it grew on me. I was watching the dummers more than the bagpipers so I sort of focused on them rather than the bagpipes.

    The markets run almost all of saturday so I will definitely return. Lots of Tasmania made products of all kinds.     Czytaj więcej
