    Back home!

    December 21, 2022 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 7 °C

What a trip.. what a trip!!!

After 273 days and 12 countries I am back home and I feel good. I was not expecting to be back home so „early“ but I know it is the right way.

I was sick the hole trip back over 40 hours but I made it.
So much happened on this trip, it’s unbelievable and I feel so glad. I have so many friends now everywhere, maybe I will see some of them again.

Traveling is just the best thing I ever did in my life and I will travel soon again I guess.
It was so good to see all the places and meet all the people from around the world.

Now I will enjoy the time at home, will see all my friends, my family, I will play some video games and then I will make a new plan for the next trip.

Thanks for everybody that followed this blog.
I hope it was a bit interesting sometimes and maybe you will be back on the next trip.

Until next time, much love to everybody.

  • Day 266

    Koh Lanta/Krabi

    December 14, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

    Traveling is a fun time!

The last days been really good and we went to some good parties. Yesterday was a chill day, in my age you need some rest after 2 days of party.

Now I am waiting for my bus to Koh Tao, I am so excited to go back. It’s my second favorite place in Thailand, I really want to get stuck somewhere again for more then two nights.
A but resting at the same place without travel “stress” sounds really good for me.
I will meet there a friend again from Bali, I am sure we will have a good time.

  • Day 262

    Koh Phi Phi

    December 10, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

Short trip to Koh Phi Phi.

It’s a small island but really beautiful and good for a beach party. The weather was ok the most of the time but when I had a boat trip it was raining…
It was still good but maybe next without the rain.

Yesterday I got a new tattoo for my travel collection.
Today I went quick to a viewpoint with the girls in the first picture and that is it.
Now I take the ferry to the next island.

  • Day 260

    Phuket

    December 8, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

    I am back in Thailand!
It’s crazy to be back, I have so many nice memories and the first time was just special. (Back after 178 days)

First of all it’s good to be back in Asia!
    I missed the 7-Eleven.

Phuket is busy as hell holy shit, feels a bit like Bangkok in small.
But i had a good time I met some nice people and we had a lot of fun.
It rains much and it’s not even rain Saison but they say it will be better the next days.

Today I met Jola a friend from back home, the last time I saw her in Spain like 240 days ago.
Was good to see her again but now I am on my way to Kho Phi Phi. I always love it to be on a island .

  • Day 254

    Dunedin & Invercargill

    December 2, 2022 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 10 °C

    „Last“ stop in New Zealand!

I was hitchhiking again from Te Anau to Invercargill.
That worked pretty well like all the time. A truck picked me up and we had like 5 hours together because we had to collect rubbish on the way.
He ask me if I want to try hitchhike someone else but I was not in a rush and stayed with him.
Hitchhiking in New Zealand was a really good experience! I can recommend that to everybody.

I spent two days in Invercargill and normally I wanted to go to Stewart island but everything was booked out for the next days.

So I took the bus to Dunedin and on my way here I booked the flight back to Thailand really spontaneous. I am really excited to go back.
I left like 5 1/2 month ago but now it’s time to run it back. I have great memories about Thailand and I know it will be a good time again, a different time but a good time.

I go tomorrow back to Christchurch and then I take the flight the next morning (04.12, 6 o’clock)
I have to kill 8 hours in Australia at the airport but this is fine.

    Asia I am coming back!

  • Day 251

    Te Anau

    November 29, 2022 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

I visited a cave with glow worms inside it.
    Yes that’s it!
I payed 99 Dollars (65 Euro) for like a 2 hours tour first with a boat and then with a guide.

Let’s say it was good enough for do it ones in a lifetime. Maybe I will never come back so it’s ok to do things like that.

Let’s heading more in the south!
Right at this moment I sit in a truck and he is bringing me to Invercargill.

  • Day 248

    Lake Marian

    November 26, 2022 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌧 8 °C

Quick day trip to Lake Marian.

I had no idea in the morning what I can do but the travel destiny never let me alone. My roommate asked me if I want to join him for a little hike to the lake.
The hike was 2 hours in total with return so really easy. And before one hour car drive from Te Anau, that’s the place I stay right now.

Man how beautiful is that place. I am just grateful to be alive and live the life like I do it at the moment.

  • Day 247

    Queenstown

    November 25, 2022 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

    4 days relaxing in Queenstown.

    What a beautiful small village!
In the middle of the mountains, with a lake, nice Cafés, good hostels and nice people .
Everything is near by so that is also easy, it’s just beautiful here.
That is a place I can live for sure, maybe I will come back on the trip or on another one.

The first two days I used to recover from that crazy journey before. Yesterday was great weather and I was climbing up a little hill (Queenstown hill).
Really easy to get up there and a amazing view at the top!

I also met Anna again, an 30 years old woman from jersey (the island in the UK). She is working in the hostel now for get some money and then for new travels.
It’s always nice to see people again all over the world.

Yesterday was btw. my 8. month anniversary, that is crazy! I feel still really good on my travels and have no feelings that I get tired or want to go home.

Let’s hitchhike to the next place!

  • Day 242

    3 days Motatapu Track

    November 20, 2022 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Maybe one of the hardest and stupidest things I did so far. But it helped and it was a great feeling to be back and not dead!

One day after my grandpa died I can’t stay in public and live the hostel lifestyle like normally.
I was to sad and I needed to go out in the mountains. So I decided to go on a track with everything I have.
I was not really thinking about anything, not the distance, how much energy I need or even food.
So yes i started walked from Wanaka to the beginning of the track and from there to two Huts (houses in the mountains)

Every day was fucking tough, my legs felt heavier then normally and felt like I can’t walk anymore and that on my first day..
My drinks been already empty when I reached the track so I started drinking river water (not the biggest problem).
Also my food runs out really really quick because I just got food for maybe a day - like I said I was not thinking.
So I tried to eat less as possible, that makes it not easy when you walk in the mountains every day..
After my second day I nearly had nothing to eat left just a small piece of bread. I was lucky that I had some company in my Hut (Highland Creek Hut)
and they gave me a bit to eat, but they also told me that I can’t finish the track with less food like that and also they said a big storm is coming.

I was thinking about the future of my track and the next morning I decided to walk back to civilization.
I was hungry, my legs been shivering, I was completely wet and I had nearly no energy left.
The walk was tough especially the beginning, but after I reached the highest point I had new energy and I also don’t felt my feet anymore, to be fair that helped.

After 6 1/2 hours I was back at the parking area and I was looking for a pick up. That works pretty well!
Man was I happy to be back. At some points I really felt like I been dancing with the god of dead!

Now I am back in Wanaka and rest here for today, everything hurts but I am not hungry anymore and that feels great!

The good thing beside the nature (so beautiful) was I had a lot time to think about what happened.
I mean I am still sad that’s normal but I think I can handle the situation better now (hopefully).
My Grandpa is gone and maybe it was the best for him at the end of the day. It’s ok to be sad but we have to stay on our way, we have to follow our dreams we can’t fall in depression. I am sure that’s what he wants.
He is gone from that earth but he will be in our hearts until the day we die.
It’s on us to keep his legacy alive!
I don’t know if I will ever see him again, but if we do then we drink a beer, smoke a cigarette and talk about everything we have in our mind.

    Rest in peace Grandpa!
We love you and we will never forget you, you did a great job and hopefully one day I will be a great grandpa like you!
