    Day 2

    February 20 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Was a quiet night at camp with the sound of the river flowing past, had breakfast then went for a drive into Dargo to check phone messages.
Back at camp and the day was warming up, stayed under the shade of the caravan awning while Teresa did some colouring and I did a bit of reading.
Nachos was on the menu for lunch then Craig got a quick haircut and then into the river for a swim was very nice.
Jane arrived around 3 and got the gooseneck setup, lots of thunder and then a bit of rain, steak on the Weber and drinks and laughs under the awning as the rain set in for a bit, great night once again 👍👍

    Day 1

    February 19 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Was a last minute decision last night to pack up and head off to Dargo for a couple of days after the lockdown announcement Wednesday to say we are free again, got away at 11 and made our way into the hills no rush, got through Dargo then right onto the upper Dargo road, Italian flat camp was super busy so off to Ollie’s and there was only one camper here so found a nice spot right on the river.
Set up camp and had a swim in the river as it was a hot day, got into the bevies around 3 and chilled out of the sun chasing the shade till sunset and then it cooled down nicely, had warm chicken salad for tea and a few more drinks was an early night in bed by 9:30 to the sound of the river🤓👍

    New Years Day 2021

    January 1 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Was a very windy night from the east, was a good idea for Jane to get her trusty kubota tractor out with the water tank before we went to bed and give the fire a good drenching and was rather funny with a few drinks under all our belts.
Out of bed around 7:30 and still reasonably breezy, think we all feeling ok a few coffees and cuppa teas to get the day started, Pete and Kane got on the job with the breakfast, bacon and egg rolls, very nice 👍
A little bit of chill out time before we packed up and said goodbye to the Redwood clan and 2020, not a great start to COVID 2021 as the borders are in lock down again and the drive home was busy on the road.
Thanks again to our great friends and bring on a great 2021 👍👍

    New Years Eve Party Day

    December 31, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

The year is coming to a fast end after a tough year of bushfires and COVID, it was time to send it off Redwood style. Packed the van and headed out to Jane and Pete’s Redwood ASH Stud, Kane and Pete had the fire cranked up and a good supply of wood when we arrived, Mel had her self setup in the gooseneck and Kane and Jack had the tent up, parked the van and a quick 5 minute setup we good to go.
Time to get the meat on the spit, lamb and chook, followed by a few afternoon bevies, the day was a bit windy but was warm in the sun but as the day went on the fire was the place to be.
The girls finished preparing all the tucker and then got their drinking boots on, dinner was great and a big shout out for Jane’s scallop potato with sweet potato a great combo.
Lots more drinking and yakking, and lots of laughter as we made our way to midnight, Jane made the party with her backwards redwood cap and a swag of midori’s on the go.
No countdown just a cheer for the end of 2020 and a little burst of fireworks from far away, we made it till 1 o’clock in 2021 and hit the sack.
What a crazy year, thanks to all our great friends for making the end of it good, with our few COVIDSafe get togethers.

    Party Day

    December 18, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Did a few farm jobs then loaded up the van and headed out to Redwood, arrived at Pete and Jane’s around 1 and met up with Kane and little Jack, had some pasties in the travel buddy for lunch, Pete and Kane went out in the buggy to get wood while we had lunch, then we went for a spin around the front paddocks to check out the dams after 50 mm of rain the day before , spotted Mel coming in the gate, everyone was here now time for the party to start.
Lots of drinks and chatting while the meat cooked on the spot above the fire, Nick got home for a few beers before the call to work tomorrow, bummer that was his night done.
Spuds in foil, salad, coleslaw and roast pork and beef was fantastic for dinner, more drinks and chatting was the desert menu, was a great night sitting around the fire with great friends, Pete, Jane, Kane, Mel, Jack, Nick, Craig and Teresa and can’t forget the puppy’s Chopper, Soc and Finn.
    Merry Christmas 🎄

Loaded up this morning and headed off around 11, traffic was good and a beautiful day to be on the road, only a short run about an hour and we arrived at the canni creek racetrack, unloaded Leroy and setup his yard, found a nice spot behind the stalls to set up camp, the travel buddy oven did the job again with pasties for an easy lunch. Went for a walk up the front straight to the golf course which is in the centre of the track and also crosses the track, Teresa and Shazza saddled up and went for a ride to have a look around the place, just chillin for the rest of the avo, got the laptop out adding a few songs to the phone. Got the fire pot cranked up sitting around having a few bevies, bake spuds and your choice of topping for dinner, quiet camp only a few here tonight 🐴🥃🍺👍Read more
