    The Arrival

    May 15, 2019 in Czech Republic ⋅ 🌧 7 °C

My trip started on the 14th May in the night by taking the train from Zurich to Prague. The ride lasted 14 hours but it was completely fine because I had a comfortable bed and I was quite excited. After arriving in Prague I bought a ticket and went straight with the train to Pardubice. There I've finally met my friend which I've known from Postcrossing. He studies in the univeristy of Pardubice and he had the great idea to take a room in the university. After that he had to go to a lecture and I had time to take a shower and to relax for a bit. We went to a cat café and then to pub to drink some beers (of course).Read more

  • Bears

    May 4, 2019 in Switzerland ⋅ 🌧 11 °C

They put the bears in the old bear ditch, because they cleaned their bigger compound and you were able to see them very well. Fortunately they don't have to stay in there for a long time because it's definitely too small and there are no hiding spots. It's sad to think that they used to have bears in there. I took a lot of photos – enjoy!Read more

  • Walking around

    May 4, 2019 in Switzerland ⋅ 🌧 10 °C

That's my third time in Berne and I still love this small town. It's perfect for getting lost because of its river it's shaped like a peninsula, so you can't really go far away. I've went to the Bundeshaus, the federal government building. On the suqare was a maret with vegetables, fruits, bread and flowers. Actually a lot of places had small street markets with food, that was quite great. I suggest you to go behind the government building because you have there a pretty view and also there would be the entrance to the public tours for inside the building which are free and held in different languages. I went once with school and it was great! Then I walked past the clocktower Zytglogge which is famous too. Afterwards I was at another square with a church, I've forgot the name of it. Behind of it is a park where you have a pretty view over the river. If you walk out of the park on the right right of the church yoou can find some stairs which go down. I suggest taking them rather the elevator for which you have to pay for. Then you can follow the street and you will find another stairs to go up and you will find yourself close to the Bärengraben, where the bears are.Read more

    Last day

    July 7, 2018 in Hungary ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

Our flight left in the evening, so we got half a day in Budapest. And I knew exactly what I wanted to do: I saw that there was a Frida Kahlo exhibition in the Art Museum and me being an art enthusiast I had to visit it. My friends went instead to the Gellért Baths. I wished I could have gone too but Frida Kahlo was a priority for me. the exhibition was really beautiful and I were able to see a lot of famous paintings of Frida, which were normally located in Mexico. I had enough time to visit the permanent exhibition and it was totally worth it.
After that I went again to the Buda Castle and walked around. There was a tower from where you had a very nice view over the city. I walked the hill down and were able to see guards (?) on horses. And then I met my friends again and we went to the hostel to pack our things and to make our way to the airport.
It was a great trip and I still miss it. We ate a lot of great food and we saw a lot of pretty things. I will go back for sure!

    Day full of impressions

    July 6, 2018 in Hungary ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

This day we went to the Buda side and visited the Buda Castle and the Matthias Church on the Buda Hill. We found an Italian Restaurant and enjoyed a delicious mail I can't think of, but it was probably Pizza (what else?).
Then we went down to the Labyrinth under the Buda Castle. It was moist, it was dark and it was foggy. I would lie if I told you, I nearly wet my pants. And it didn't helped that there were dolls and a lot of blue light and some part where there wasn't light at all. But I tell you, it was so much fun to walk around and sometimes seeing another lost visitor. Also there was a great throne to take great pictures with my two sheep.
After that we went to the Parliament Palace of Hungary. Truly one of the most stunning buildings I've seen so far. There were so many details you coud have observed. Also there was an exhibition and memorial of the massacre occurred on 25th October in 1956 under the square. I didn't take any picture out of respect of all the victims but I can tell you that it was really interesting and very well made. I've never heard of that happening and I was a little bit shocked to hear and read about it.
We spent some time on the square and took again some silly pictures. Enjoy.
Afterwards we sat down on a bench and decided to go looking for the famous Shoes on the river side of the Danube. After walking around for a bit we found them. The memorial is really well made and delivered the message clearly. We felt that it was a sad place. There were lot's of candles, flowers and other gifts.

    *cries in Australian*

    July 5, 2018 in Hungary ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

This day we visited the Zoo of Budapest. There were sooo many cute animals. Again the weather wasn't the best but that's no problem for us. We saw sleeping giant otters, eating prairie dogs (I think), aussie wallabys, a baby elephant, a chilling tiger and much more. It's really worth a visit because it's beautiful made. Oh and in case you were asking yourself why I chose that title.. Well, I saw there my absolute favourite animal: the Australian Wombat. It was the first time I've seen one and I was so happy, it made me cry. Yep, I was literally crying in a Zoo because of a Wombat. Unfortunately it was way too dark to take a photo, so you have to imagine one.
The famous Széchenyi Medicinal Bath was nearby so we stopped there for a few hours. And oh boy, I tell you we got lost in there. There were so many baths with all kinds of temperatures. We couldn't even decide were we should get in. Also the architecture of the whole bath is stunning and defenitely worth a visit!
Later on that evening we went to the nearby Heroes' Square. It was slowly getting dark but we stayed for a long time to make silly pictures and to talk a bit. Afterwards we walked to the Street Food Karavan and I can't recommend it enough! There is all kind of foods and it was perfect for us because all three of us are veggies and we were able to enjoy delicious vegan burgers. So defenitely visit it!

    Exploring by water and roads

    July 4, 2018 in Hungary ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Today we decided to do a boat tour on the Danube River. The weather was mild and it rained occasionally. But that didn't bother us, we enjoyed the boat tour a lot and we got to see another point of view of this beautiful city.
After that we went to a Cat Café because all three of us love cats. There were a lot of unbelievable cute cats and the things to eat and to drink were great to at the café. 10/10 would go again, 13/10 would pet again.
(Sorry for the dots on the photos, my lense was dirty – oops)

Arrived in the City of Baths

    July 3, 2018 in Hungary ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

The flight from Zurich to Budapest, Hungary was beautiful. At the airport we, two friends of mine and I, asked the information desk how we could get to the city and they kindly explained it to us. We took the train and afterwards the tram to get there. After arriving in our small hostel, we decided to explore the city. My friends suggested to take the Hop off and Hop on bus tours to get to know the city. That was the first time for me and I wasn't to excited about it, haha. We saw the Buda Castle and the Gellért Hill with the beautiful waterfall. Else I didn't take so much photos of that day, because I was too exhausted and wanted to enjoy the busride fully.Read more

    Walking around

    February 24, 2018 in Austria ⋅ ☀️ 0 °C

That day I walked around without any specific goal. I just wanted to feel the vibe of the city. I came across that beautiful church of which I frogot the name (shame on me). They were restoring it at the time, so you couldn't visit the whole church.
Afterwards I decided to visit the Weltmuseum – the World Museum. There was a big collection of things from all corners of the globe. Also there were a lot of videos to watch and things to touch!

    Finding The Kiss

    February 23, 2018 in Austria ⋅ 🌫 0 °C

This evening, after the House of the Sea, I decided to visit the Belvedere Museum where there was a lot of art. Art, I loved. I've found Klimts masterpieces and couldn't keep my eyes off. I am sure that I stared at The Kiss for over an hour because it's so moving. But not only Klimt held me hostage, Egon Schiele who painted The Embrace was contributing to that magic. Beside from that there was a lot to see. A lot of great paintings and statues and a great architecture.Read more
