A fabulous day in Mount Cook National Park exploring the Tasman Glacier
Lovely few days chilling at Ali and Jills, doing a few lengths in the community pool and exploring the area around Owaka
Today we travelled to Curio Bay with stop off at the Whistling Frog Cafe and McLean Falls. Extremely fortunate to swim with Hector Dolphins in the surf (Southern Ocean!) and watched the Yellow EyedLäs mer
Arrived at Bluff at 8.30am to catch the ferry to Stewart Island. Whilst waiting to see if we can get a seat on the 9.45am crossing I went to get coffee and tea from the local cafe and was treated to aLäs mer
Hired electric bikes and rode out to Lee Bay which is the start of the national park. Joined the Rakiura Track for 30min walk to Small River and spent some time exploring the beach.

Arrived back in Bluff and headed to the start/end of State Highway 1 which is the longest road in NZ at 1263 miles.
Drove to Invercargill to look around Transport World with its themed toilets andLäs mer
Drove to Purakaunui Falls then onto Papatowai for picnic and beach walk. Kiwis now on holiday... Places getting busy.
Visited the lost Gypsy for some quirky gadget stuff and then a short walk toLäs mer
Travelled to Dunedin. Visited tunnel beach on route and checked into Hogwartz Backpackers. Had a walk in the city.
Spent the day walking and enjoying the wildlife at Orokonui.

Great to see the Albatross. 43 nests at the centre with parents sitting on the eggs currently. Windy enough to see some albatross in flight.
