    Day 45-46 : Dempasar

    28 juli 2023, Indonesien ⋅ ☁ 27 °C

I took a flight between Flores and Bali. (I KNOW IT'S NOT ECOFRIENDLY but it's really hard to find an other way. There is no ferry, or not enought (like twice by month) it's expensive and long....

In the aeroport of Dempasar I met Maude , à frenchgirl I met in Java a month ago.

We share a room with Picolo Fabio, just to sleep well. To be honest, it wasn't my nest night ever. But better than the last fiveteen nights...
Fortunately, my days are not busy because my night also..

It was so funny, I show a picture of Fabio I took the day before. I compared to him to Tarzan (please tell my on the coment if I'm alright..(Sorry I fell too much like an "influenceuse")).
He turn on the TV, and ... it was tarzan. 😅😅 amazing coincidence đŸ€Ł

    DAY 46

Oh God! I took my shower, put soap on my body (yes yes yes), and when I clean my body, I feel hot water 😍 you can't imagine how I was so fucking happy to take a hot shower !!!!

I didn't like Bali, and Dempasar is not 'the place to be'. I didn't visited a lot around me. (I just slept all the day or almost). BUT I love this place, I mean, It's not amazing, but I feel so good here. Maybe it's because there are not too much "white people".

For the dinner, we took something on a nice place. We were almost full. We were looking for something else, like a desert. We walked on the street, suddenly I heard music on a small restaurant. The owner was playing guitar and singing. Just to enjoy the moment we took something in this place ahah. We asked them to go on to play. I love this kind of moment.

By the way, I did the account .. good I spend too much money. (Transport and accommodation are more expensive than expected).
My budget (normally) : 35€/day (33€ for a backpacker in average)
My real budget is : 41€ or ~ +275€ (sans compter 40€ d'hors forfait inutile, et quelques aléas...)

    Day 47-48 - Kuta (Bali)

    31 juli 2023, Indonesien ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

    Day 47 :
I took a smothie bowl for the breakfast. I precise, because the 47, I tried to don't eat anything else than fruits (and healthy cereal) , because I have lot of skin problem. (Picture)
I think it's because of the food. So I hate my skin. I bought some products also to do a new skin routine. Here, the only thing I do on my face ... I clean my face everyday (that's already better than nothing đŸ˜¶‍đŸŒ«ïž) I hope my skin will be better because I hate my face now 😐

I said good bye to Fabio! Alone again. I took a not friendly hostel but I don't care I don't want to meet people, I just want to learn surf.

On the walk path in front to the beach, I met a surfcoach. He proposed to me a good price to learn surf.

The next day (day 48 pour ceux qui suivent). Finally I didn't find the guy, so I took a lesson with an other guy.
The coach is Ludi (or Naruto). (I love when he calls me 'Nana' with his Indonesian pronunciation). He is 24, from Sumatra. The best coach. I stood up many times (not a lot đŸ« ) but the coach push me to give speed, so it's easier.
I ate with him, and we saw the sunset together.

He told me his life, his job etc...
That's crazy, He works in Surfcamp.
He earns 3 500 000 Rp /month. (250€) or 120k/j His boss is german. (Salaire moyen est d'environ 300€, mais bcp sont autours de 150-200€).
If he is 5 min late, he loses 150k Rp on his salary ...
If he is absent one day, he loses 500k Rp.
    (Yes, the calculations are wrongs...)

    Day 49-50-51 - Kuta Bali

    2 augusti 2023, Indonesien ⋅ ☀ 28 °C

    Day 49:
I rented a board to surf alone. I stood up many times. I was so happy. That's exactly the kind of moment, I miss a travel partner just to share my happyness.
For diner, Lukas and Niv came to my hostel to eat together. I didn't there was close to me.
    Day 50:
Almost the same day. I fought with the board in the sea. It win ...
I felt really well on the beach, because some instructor gave me so e advice to surf (also they were with client..).
One moment, an instructor I didn't know gave me some advice, he asked me my name. And when I left the beach he says "ciao Nana''. That was nice. Ahah
Niv left Indonesia. I ate just with Lukas for diner. Lukas is one of my best met here. I mean, this is a person, with who, I will may be friend in France in a different situation. All of the people I met are so nice, but some of them, in France I may not be friend with them if I m honest.
    Day 51:
I planned to go to surf again. But when I woke up, I don't know why but I felt to be quiet this day. So wrote one my book. I started to read a book in English. (To be honest I m not really motivated but, I try all the way to improve my english).
For diner, I joined Lukas to his place. All was closed at 9 a.m. I think it because there was a Holliday.
We took street food, and we ate in front of the supermarket. Like Indonesia life.
    (Yes I m tanned now)
    Yes I love young coconut
Sorry I didn't take lot of picture because it's not really interesting...

    Nusa Penida

    4 augusti 2023, Indonesien ⋅ ☁ 27 °C

    Let's go to Nusa Penida.
For me, when you spend a long time in Bali, you have to go to Nusa Penida. One or two days is enought but you can enjoy to stay more long time.
Arrived at the hostel I met Alfredo (from Argentina) and Simon from England. I did a beautiful beach and viewpoint with them.

At the night, I met Flo from Belgium and Sandra from France (but she lives in Canada).
I had good feeling with Florian. So after the diner, I talked with him until almost 2 a.m. He has been travelling for 11 months now. He started his trip by bicycle. He is really interesting. But he is a quiet negative about travel. Not because he is a negative person, more because, he is on a big down of travel. I think he need to relax a bit. I have the feeling, he don't enjoy 100% anymore. I can imagine his feeling, because à the beginning of my travel it was a little bit like this. My head was in France. (Sorry if I already say it)

Next day wake up at 6:40 p.m
Go to Snorkling to see Manta ray. It was amazing. Just that you see it was a little bit dirty where the manta were.

Then, I did a nap before to take a lunch.
I enjoyed the beach close to my hostel. Just a walk on the beach. Simple, efficient.

Just on the way back to my hostel, I bought some fruits and vegetables. There is a kitchen in my hostel, so I wanted to cook.

I discussed with an Brazilian girl. She worked in Australia.she gave me some advices for Australia. I gave her some advice for her travel in Indonesia.

Day 54-55 : Go back to Bali

    5 augusti 2023, Indonesien ⋅ ☀ 29 °C

    Day 54 :
I went to gym. I did some crossfit exercice! It was funny because the gymbox was so small. The guys did exercice with the machines, and me I did burpees ahaha.
    I did :

    4 rounds :
    - 12 L sit (en gros des demi t2b stricts, mais le dos appuyé donc c'est plus simple)
    - 15 sit up (I introduced sit up because I saw the wod of Crossfit Azalea)
    - 30 gainage (Sorry I don't know in english)
    30" rest

    5rounds:
    - 10 kb squat @14
    -12 C&J @14
    -15 burgers
    1' rest

2rounds (because an Indonesian waited the weight..)
    - 12 over head lungees @14

    3 Rounds
    - deadlift one arm @8kg

    Tabata
    Hollow / arch

It was quiet hard, because I don't practice a lot here (to be honest I wasn't so bad ahah, I mean I thought it will be more complicated).
I felt sooo good after this. I will try to go at gym at least one by week. This is when you don't practice anything that you know how sport is really important for healthy mind.

Then, I took the boat to go back to Sanur. I visited a little bit Sanur. Boring city, but expensive. I met Flo. I took a diner together on the beach. I talked a lot with him. He loose his sister three years ago. I his a like the center of his family. He needed this travel. I don't know if his is really satisfied of his travel. I think it is time to go back to Brussel. I think the same. But his family planned to go to Nepal I August so he will visite Nepal before to go back.
I hope to see him again, in a different context.

    Day 55:
Sorry I didn't do anything really interesting.
I just ate. Oooh yeah, I went in a bookstore to buy a english book. I found a book few days ago in a hostel. A love story. But the book is really big, and I don't like to read a lot so .. I wasn't really motivated. So I found a small book, the only one. And guest what. I talk about ... Tahiti. Ahah when I saw it, I said to myself that it was a sign.
I planned my next week of travel. I mean "planned". How you know me, useless to precise that I didn't book anything.

I leave Indonesia to Singapor the 7th August. I m exiting. I spent two amazing months but it's time to change. I feel like for my first flight. Like it's a new travel. These last days was quiet calm. I changed my mindset of travel. Before I wanted to do the maximum of things in a minimum of time. But now I prefer to take my time, and listen to myself.

I enjoy to share my stories in this application in English. (And no I don't use Google translate, I mean sometimes I cheek vocabulary or I write in English but that's all. That's why sometime thre are lot of mistakes..)

Day 56 : Indonesia to Singapore

    7 augusti 2023, Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

My last breakfast in Indonesia. I took two ahah the free breakfast at the hostel and an amazing smoothie bowl.

On the plane I started to read my new book. It's so interesting. I like the story.

In order to close Indonesia :
I spent 8 weeks in Indonesia. That's a lot but not that at all.

Indonesia is a big country. Bigger that we think. All the part of indonesia are completly different, there are almost like different country (not the same language, not the same religion, not the same food etc.)
To be honest I want to go back to do Sualeswi , Borneo, Sumatra and Papua.

A small list of funny thing (or not) in Indonesia:

    - Indonesians are really respectful and smiling. I keep in my head the smile of all them, and in particular the childreen. When they see you, just because you are white, they are smiling.

    - It's useful when an Indonesian, say to you "hello" on the street for free.

-The childreen, sometimes enought young, come to the tourists and just ask some easy question like : "Hello, what is your name ? Where are from ? " and the majority of time that's all.(it's to practice english) Sometimes they look shy but sometimes, I was surprised by them confidence of themselves. It 's a thing we can't see in Europe. In mean, personnaly when I see a stranger (and more when I was young) in France, just I don't care of them. Here, they are sooo happy to see you (a bit less in Bali obviously).

-On Google Map you can have the way by scooter and car (the time is different because of jam car)
    - I saw just once a woman grab (In Bali)
    - I never saw a woman coach of surf or what ever.
    - it's not autorized, but you can take a Grab without helmet (i did)
    -They work 6/7D by week
-You can see a whole family on a scooter
    Or many other things
    - in the restaurant there are only a spoon and a fork. Never knife, the meat always is already cut. We cut with fork and eat with spoon.
-The food is really sweet. If you take a tea or juice, it's better to precise without sugar or a just a bit.
-classical Indonesian breakfast is : fried rice or fried Noodle.
    - I didn't see lot of Indonesians with glasses. That's the reality of porverty
    - They learn English at school, but all the Indonesians I met, tell me that they learn English with tourists. They just tried and learned. "Never try, never know"

I ask to some Indonesians with who I talked, their dreams. I wasn't really surprised by their answers:
Fivety pourcent : travel (in particular in Europe)
Fivety pourcent : Enougt (just have what they need to have and enjoy with this)

So, arrived in Singapor, the plane was late, so I arrived around 10p.m at the hostel. I was waiting when Thomas (english) gave me some advice for the check in.
    We went to dinner together.

    Day 57-58 : Singapore

    9 augusti 2023, Singapore ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Lot of people I met in Indonesia were surprised when I told them that I wanted to visit Singapore. They said that 'it's just a city' like there are no lot of things to do.
    So It wasn't my impression.
I was so surprised by this city. I did the tour suggested by the hostel with Thomas.
    All was so interesting.
We did a museum about the architecture of singapore. It's crazy how they are building this city. They thought about all : energy, environment, park, transportation etc. This city is presented like a utupia.
    Transportation is easy.
-The city is so clean and quiet.
    -The food is good.
    - The city is Multicultural
-The city is beautiful with park everywhere.
    - The safest city on the world
    Etc...
But is it really a utopia? Is it really good to live in this kind of city ?
    - Where, all it's forbidden. (To chew gum is forbidden).
-The death penalty is still used and a lot. (for dealers, for example).
-There are a lot of cameras everywhere in the city.
    - The freedom is not really respected
    - The freedom of the press is not respected
    - Many prostitued bar (hide)
    Etc....

So I recommend to visit Singapore. It was completly different that all the others places I visited.

I did the first day with the cuttest english guy. And the second day alone. (He left the second day)
I didn't do all I planned to do because for the first time of my trip I was so drunk. The second day I was just hang over.

    Day 59-60: Singapore to Malaysia

    10 augusti 2023, Malaysia ⋅ 🌧 25 °C

    The night was short.
Let's go for a new country : Malaysia.

Woke up at 6 a.m. one hour to be ready.
7 a.m. I took a little breakfast (free, at the hostel).
It was a bit complicated to understand how to go to the place to take my bus. With Google maps, the way wasn't really clear. (I mean, I think it wasn't a shorter way). So I asked to the guy of the hostel. (An old man, so kind, his smile was so even with a few missing teeth, during all my time in this place I loved to ask him some question).
So I left the hostel. Without data, I knew the name of my destination and the number of my line. O didn't have a lot of time.
    Fortunately, it wasn't complicated.
The Malaysian visa was so easy to do !

3h hours later, I arrived in Malaka. It's a city like we can find in Europe. It's completely different that Indonesia. The city looks nice.
It's a multicultural city with a big chinesse community.

I tried the bao. Not bad. I will try chinesse food here, but to be honest, i m not confident in the majority of the chinesse food. I went to bed early.

Next day, I took a coffee with Yoan (from Danmark) that I met the day before.
I tried to do the tour of the city bg bicycle, but it was too warm. (I was with Dom from Polonia).
I returned at the hostel to read my book and plan my next days
I waited the end of the day to visited the city, and I finished by the nightmarket.

    Day 61-62

    13 augusti 2023, Malaysia ⋅ ☁ 30 °C

I woke up early, I was looking for sweet breakfast, but I tried to find local breakfast.
After 1h, I oriented to a westernplace. I took granola bowl. I prefer to have local life, to eat local, take local snack, local transport etc. But sometimes, I miss my habits.

Then, I did gym, lunch, shower and museum.
    Really interesting.
Malaka was a strategic habour for Asia and Europe.

Malaka was colonised by portugueses, Dutch, English and Japanese before to take their inpendance in 1957.

I finished my day by the Nightmarket.

    Day 62:
The day before I planned to take a breakfast with the owner of the hostel, in a local maket.

Lot of Malaysian come to Malaka, for the food. There lot of choice here.

Go to Kuala Lumpur by bus.

I visited a bit Kuala Lumpur before to back at the hostel.

Bad news of the day :
-the screen of my phone is broken (Iong story)
To fix it is 250€ 😐 (I prefer to wait ...)

    -I withdrew 300Rp (60€) but Monabanq say 100€.

-I can't withdraw more money because I spend to much in Singapor. So I have just twenty euros in my wallet. (Fortunately I can use my second creditcard but I pay more, each time I use it... So I will try to don't use it.)

    15 augusti 2023, Malaysia ⋅ ☁ 26 °C

I visited Kuala Lumpur. Too hot. I left the hostel early.
I think I wasn't in the best district. Kuala Lumpur est really interesting. I did all by walk.

The guy of the hostel talked too me.
He recognized that I practiced sport. I was glad.

I planned to leave next dY to Tahan Negara. I will go on to visited KL the next times.

Have you already tried to run with a big backpack in flip flop with 30°c. #TeamCrossfit
